About Charlie

Charlie Carroll is a composer, conductor, and educator based in Winter Park, Florida, where he serves as Choral Director and AP Music Theory Instructor at Trinity Preparatory School. His music spans vocal, choral, instrumental, and film/media genres, often drawing from sacred texts and interdisciplinary collaboration. His work reaches into the listener’s soul, communicating something profound and resonant about the human experience.

 

A graduate of Florida State University (D.M., Composition), Carroll’s recent accolades include being named a finalist for both the Stephen Paulus Emerging Composer Competition and the Ember Choral Arts Composer Lab. His works have been performed by Choral Arts Initiative, featured at New Music on the Bayou, and premiered by university and professional ensembles across the country.

In addition to his work as a composer, Carroll is an advocate for holistic music education, guiding students in composition, theory, conducting, and vocal artistry.

 

Dr. Carroll lives in Winter Park with his wife, Hannah, and their dog, Benny, and loves exploring Central Florida’s parks, coffee shops, and creative community.
